Dec 27, 2012 6:39 AM in response to Dah•veedby jcolem2,Oh another thing I thought about. If Apple goes out of business, say goodbye to all of your apps and music because you don't own then and apple has to exist for you to have a license to use the content through apple. Everyone here ok with losing everything they paid for?

Dec 27, 2012 6:43 AM in response to jcolem2by Kilgore-Trout,Taking away your "freedom of speech"? Really? No one is stopping you from saying anything you choose.
If you are referring to the posts being edited by the the hosts, that has NOTHING to do do with your "freedom of speech". You were in violation of the ToU (that you agreed to when you signed up) and the posts corrected due to a violation. This is an Apple resource. If you wish to make statements that are not in aggreement with the ToU, you are perfectly "free" to go elsewhwere and do so.

Dec 27, 2012 6:49 AM in response to jcolem2by Allan Sampson,iOS apps work on iOS devices only regardless. I believe android apps work on android devices only. The same if Google goes out of business in regards to android apps.

Dec 27, 2012 6:53 AM in response to jcolem2by Dah•veed,There is no freedom of speech in the ASC. This is an Apple maintained site and runs by Apple's rules. Apple doesn't have to let any of us have a say here.
AFA Apple going out of business and we loosing our content, that just isn't the case. We have licensed copies of our content and as long as we maintain backup copies of our content it is ours in perpetuity. The only time an app stops functioning when the developer goes out of business or is sold, is with regard to the functions which rely on outside resource agreements. So if Apple went out of business Siri, Messages, FaceTime, Maps, etc would most likely cease to function shortly thereafter. But music, videos, books, apps and games that are self contained should work ad infinitum.

Dec 27, 2012 6:59 AM in response to Kilgore-Troutby jcolem2,I don't have any idea how it operates? Tell me, then, how exactly you will continue to have a license to use your apps, music, and movies if the license specifically states you are licensed to use the content through Apple. If apple no longer exists, then you no longer have a license. Your apps are authorized through iTunes so if iTunes doesn't exist your apps no longer work.

Dec 27, 2012 7:03 AM in response to jcolem2by Dah•veed,Is Apple going to reach out and remove iTunes from my devices? I have legacy Macs which aren't connected to the internet and yet the content on them continues to function in spite of the fact that the Macs are unaware of the existence or demise of Apple..

Of course we're allowed to criticize people, as long as we do it politely. I also prefer that it be done with some wit, humor and reasonably good punctuation but that may be asking a lot.
