can I touch to tap?
I have a Macbook air and want to enable the trackpad to recognise a simple touch.
Can this still be done?

System Preferences > Trackpad > Point & Click tab > check Tap to Click
Thank you but that does not work.
I want to be able to touch gently without tapping.
Ever since the latest upgrades (bootcamp) I have to tap firmly.
Oh, sorry didn't realise you're talking about Windows.
Go to Bootcamp control panel (right click on the bootcamp icon in the icon tray, next to where the clock is) and click Preferences. there is also "tap to click" on trackpad tab.
All sorted, thank you very much.
Now I don't have to listen to my wife clicking away madly :-)
Glad I could help.
Can't believe you're making your wife use Windows!

She turned it back to clicking again.
Actually now I realise why i turned on the clicking.
When typing she rests her palm on the trackpad and occasionally deletes some text.
Apparently the sensitivity setting has been removed.
Is that correct?
