Calendar Crashing
Why does the calendar app crash when I try and view March 2013?
Why does the calendar app crash when I try and view March 2013?
Try a reset. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red slider.
Sorry, but this didn't work. My boss has the same problem. Try it... Whenever we try and view March 2013 the calendar app crashes and I get returned to the home screen!
I've just found this thread in a Google search because exactly the same thing happens on my iPad. However I try to view the month view of March 2013, the Calendar app crashes.
Perhaps Apple have decided to abolish the whole month so they don't have to release an iPad 4. 😉
Exact same problem here. Only in month view the Calendar App crashes when you tab march 2013. Ipad 1 with IOS 5.1 Reset doesn't help. I just did a comlete restore of the iPad. Still the same problem.
We all have an iPad here at work, some an iPad 1 and some an iPad 2. I checked with 2 colleagues. Both have an iPad 1 with IOS 5.0.1. One crashes at march 2013, and one doesn't. My post above is not my iPad but one from another colleague: iPad 1 with IOS 5.1.
I have an iPad 2 with IOS 5.1 and there is no problem.
How strange that one works and one crashes.
I forgot to say, mine is an iPad 2 running iOS 5.1.
Hi from Switzerland !
Have exactly the same problem of calendar crashing on March 2013, as well as two other members of my family !
All with iPad 2
When will Apple provide a correction ?
Same here.
I have what seems to be a bad recurring appointment.
In month view the calendar crashes when I tap the appointment.
In day view the calendar crashes when I turn to the day containing the appointment.
Since the appointment recurs every Friday I cannot use ANY Friday in the calendar.
Can't view the appointment, so can't delete it.
What a joke!
Come on Apple - how about a fix?
If you turn on iCloud you can reach your calendar entry at www.icloud.com. Maybe this is a solution for now?
Hi Vongole1,
I went to icloud.com as you suggested.
There is nothing there that gives access to calendar entries.
There must be some way to delete a bad calendar entry - some undocumented method or tool?
If everyone experiencing this bug would write a feedback to Apple following this link
http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html
maybe they would fix it...?
I experienced the very same issues around the date this post was created. After I updated to 5.1 it seems to have worked itself out. HOWEVER:
I suggest erasing your iCloud calendar entries (don't worry you can recover them later by switching Calendar back on) in the settings menu then closing calendar/reboot the iPad and THEN enable your iCloud calendar again. This worked for me at least temporarily. I found it too that it was the Day view that was giving me trouble, and not the Month or Week view.
I hope that helps someone. Like I said I haven't encountered the issue since then so I can't guarantee it'll work but it's worth a try.
The bug came back with a vengeance after it was gone for a couple of weeks. Still no remedy, I'm afraid. I was hoping the update would do the trick but it was only temporary.
Tried all manner of stuff from this thresad and others but all to no avail sadly.
Have left feedback here and ask tat anyone else reading this with the same problem takes 2 min's to do the same.
Hi there, I am having the same problem with March 2013 but I found if I removed my contacts I had no problem with viewing as a month. Tough call I guess, lose the contact or a month 🙂 good luck with finding a solution. Please keep us updated. My issus are with the ipad 3 😟
