I deleted my trash and now It won't let me delete mail to trash from that account. I now have a pointer pointing at the effected trash account.
I'm sorry, but I don't understand any of this. What does "deleted my trash" mean? What does "delete mail to trash" mean? Where's this pointer? What's "the effected trash account"?
Perhaps a screen shot might help.

Mar 10, 2012 6:21 AM in response to Gmoorerby Gmoorer,Maybe my terminology was poor. I tried to remove the old emails from the trash and now the trash won't take any old mails when I hit the delete button.
There is now a pointer next to the gmoorer trash label(see below)
When I delete an email I get the message below.
Any Ideas? I've got an appointment on Tuesday with the Apple store. Thansk Grady -
Mar 10, 2012 4:13 PM in response to Gmoorerby fane_j,(1) Your post is about Mail.app. If you provide specific details when you post a question, you're more likely to get useful answers.
(2) The 'pointer' is called a 'disclosure triangle'. It indicates that the item contains other items, which will be shown if you click on it. "Trash" is a actually a virtual mailbox, which contains messages deleted from your e-mail accounts, as well as from mailboxes stored on your mac. It appears that you have two e-mail accounts, "Scooperdude" and "gmoorer".
(3) I suspect you tried to move one or more mailboxes into the "gmoorer" trash. It's not a good idea to try to manipulate messages and mailboxes in Mail the way you do in Finder. If you want to delete messages, select the messages and press the Delete key, or choose Edit > Delete. If you want to remove messages from Trash, click on Trash to display its contents, select the messages, then choose Message > Move To, or Copy To, or Move to… Again.
(4) What to do. First, click the "gmoorer" disclosure triangle. Find out what is in there; it's probably another mailbox stored on your Mac. Move it back to its proper location. Then choose all mailboxes listed under "MAILBOXES", including Trash, and choose Mailbox > Rebuild. If this is successful, try to delete a message as indicated in (3).

Thanks for the reply, When I click on the triangle it just points in another direction, nothing drops down.
It wasn't my intent to move the mail box, still learning my way around the Mac.
I have an apointment on Tuesday I guess I'll give in and pay them to fix my screw up.
Again thanks to your time

Mar 11, 2012 6:08 PM in response to Gmoorerby baltwo,Ah! As others have pointed out, you were discussing Mail's trash, which is different than the User's Trash, indicated by the Dock's Trash can (recycle bin in windoze parlance). Once you sort out your Mail app issue, see these:
