iOS 5.1 announced by Cook few moments ago.

Tim Cook just announced the long awaited iOS 5.1 will be available tonight. This is a great news to us with iPhone 4s poor battery life. Hopefully this will fix the draining problem.

I will post an update here as soon as I upgrade mine.

Good luck to anyone with the draining issue.

Right well it all went smoothly, nothing overly amazing to report, the new lock screen and the 3G toggle were hardly a surprise, and i havent found anything else yet.

Siri is no different unfortunately, really wish i could use it to turn off wifi etc. instead of having to press the screen like 5 times to get to the right part of the settings app.

i dont quite know how thats so difficult, and i hope they dont wait too long to impliment such a change.

Nothing else really, but the good news is my phone still works haha

Oh and not a sniff of the rumoured facebook integration haha

Photo stream deleting pictures works fine

iPhone 4S btw 🙂

i never experienced the draining issue as such, but i did notice that as soon as i used the messages app, i would lose about 2% every 10 minutes

I just updated my iPad (first gen) OTA. Like 04Cobra and Huntress, so far so good! The download was about 10 minutes (work WiFi) and the install maybe another 10. The update seems to have worked well, and everything is functioning normally. Following the install, updates were available for Garage Band, Pages and Keynote. These have taken over 20 minutes to download, and still at only about halfway through... probably very busy servers!!

Its in the network part of settings, at the top, it says "Enable 3G" and below that, the "Cellular data" toggle.

Also to anyone who's interested, they have fixed the sound quality for custom ringtones, they now sound just as good as ring tones, as they do when set as alerts. 🙂

Thank you apple,

Although as i say, allowing siri to speak japanese is hardly progress as far as i'm concerned. Surely it would have made more sense to make it speak chinese? maybe not...

Also would have liked hardware control through siri, just holding the phone to my ear and being able to turn 3G on and off would be much more helpful.
