Movies in iCloud

I was wondering about this - I have probably a dozen digital copies from triple play BluRay discs.

I was honestly wondering if any at all would be available as they are often not the same as what's available for purchase (eg no iTunes extras).

My guess is that this is all unstable at the minute. Also remember that any items that have changed in the store eg now rental only or no longer in store will not be available so while the cloud is good in theory it is still wise to keep backups of any purchases.

I also suspect it's a US only thing at present as I see no Purchased under Movies here in UK and I've done a reboot - it may take hours, weeks or never come to be for us!

I noticed the same thing too. Most of the digital downloads (that came in a blu ray combo pack) are in the cloud, some are not. Some of the actual downloads from iTunes are there, some are not. In total I am missing 13 movies. Is it a work in progress? I certainly hope so. Is it the unlucky number 13? I hope not.

I have 89 Digital copies and only 36 available on icloud. I do know that universal and fox movies are not available at the moment due to a contract with HBO.

none of my disney movie digital copies are showing up.

lady and the tramp isnt available to rent until 3/27, so maybe thats why.

then why isnt my lion king showing up as its available to rent and i downloaded the digital copy!!??

while the majority of my movies are either from universal or fox. I have a few some that are from warner bros that are showing up, while others from warner bros are.

I have 14 Disney Digital Copies. Only 3 show up. They are ones I redeemed in 2010, not 2011 or 2012.

No Lion King, Pirates: On Stranger Tides, Lady & The Tramp, Tangled, etc....

2010 seems to be a cut-off for some reason.

Same issue here.

I called Apple and got moved up to a level 2 or whatever, nobody could resolve my issue.

Simple remedy = just reinsert the digital copy and put the digital copy code in.

iTunes will redownload and then BAM it instantly comes onto your apple tv server (iCloud)

After you redownload you'll have 2 copies in your iTunes. It's safe to delete the older copy (the one that doesn't link to iCloud)

Hopefully someone reads this post and it answers their dilemma.

BTW - my issue was with 6 Disney digital copies but now everything works perfectly.

So I contact iTunes customer support and in what I felt was very simple and easy terminology. I explained what movies I was missing along with their Oder numbers and dates downloaded. They responded by placing in my iTunes download que every song, movie and app I ever downloaded, thousands of titles. I only needed 9 movies, and I never mentioned anything about songs missing or apps. I got customer service to remove all those items from my download que, and they informed me that all I needed to do was put in the digital copy disk of the movie that I needed to show up in the cloud, well I did that and it didn't work. And while I had all those downloads in my que I even tried downloading the movie from iTunes with no avail to it showing up in the cloud either.

I did finally get answered that in order for a movie to show up. It obviously cannot be from fox or universal. It also has to be in iTunes as well. If a movie is only available for rent in iTunes it will not show up in the cloud. It has to be available for purchase. So with that in mind out of my 9 movies only 2 should be in there. They are Harry potter and the half blood prince, and green lantern. They informed me that my green lantern purchase was refunded and that is why it is not showing up. I responded to them by telling them that when I downloaded green lantern it did not have any subtitles. I was only letting them know of a problem and they issued a refund. I didn't ask for one but they gave it to me anyway. And because of their mistake that movie won't show up in the cloud.

Too bad there isn't a service available like Wal-Mart announcing that for a fee you can have your movies stored in their Vudu locker. I don't like Vudu or ultraviolet formats. But I honestly wouldn't mind paying $2 to get a digital copy of a movie i already own, or $5 for hi def digital copy stored in the iCloud if something like ever became availbale.
