Mar 11, 2012 3:34 AM in response to Deni Kasamaby AppStore_Tester,Very important: Please do always submit a complete crash protocoll. You should write in there:
- What was happening before crash
- How often the crash happens
- If you can find some special patterns
They will solve it, when there are about 10 billion crash reports!

Mar 11, 2012 4:58 AM in response to Deni Kasamaby Ariaudo,Running Windows 7 64-bit and received the update to 10.6 this morning. Installed and rebooted as requested and on starting up iTunes I got a blue screen system crash.
Booting up I started up iTunes 10.6 again and this time it started without crashing the PC. However, it came up as a completely new installation with no music or playlists. I now need to rebuild by library from scratch again which is really boring as this takes some time with 400GB of files. I'm also not confident that iTunes won't crash again and retrash my library file after reading of the many problems others are having.
Can we have an update that either rolls back to the previous version of iTunes or fixes the issues as soon as possible?

Mar 11, 2012 5:15 AM in response to Deni Kasamaby Trampus77,I had this problem and last night I emailed apple (no reply yet).
After getting fed up and not wanting to risk losing my movies by deleting various files as suggested by some users, I tried changing the layout of my albums, movies etc from the grid view to cover flow. It took several attempts as Itunes kept crashing but eventually I managed to get all of my itunes media into coverflow and so far it seems to have fixed the problem.
I'm still pretty disappointed that this was not picked up on by apple during testing though and I would urge you all to email apple and ask them what they are going to do about this problem as i'm sure we are all loyal customers and expect a bit more given the premium prices we all pay for apple products and itunes content.

Mar 11, 2012 7:08 AM in response to Ariaudoby powerbook1701,For those with issues, are you using software update or downloading the full installer from Apple downloads? In the past, I have always had issues using the smaller updater that software update pulls in for itunes vs downloaded the full installer from Apple downloads.
For those that haven't updated yet, but are considering, I suggest downloading full installer. Normally, I always let software update handle apple updates, but have made it a normal habit on iTunes and OS updates only to download and install myself.

Mar 11, 2012 7:30 AM in response to Nobodyknowsimadogby Eigerian,I've just made the horrible mistake of Updating to itunes 10.6 too.....
Crash Crash Crash....
Tried both the Software update version and the downloaded version with the same results.
I've found it seems to be stable if you don't use Grid View and go to the old fashioned column viewer - Not good....seems like a step backwards to 5 years ago! If I try to revert to Grid view it crashes instantly.
iPhone 4 connected and synced ok once in Column view.
This is happening more and more with Apple....is noone testing this stuff before release? Or are we testing it for them!
I really like Apple products.....but please go back to your old ethos of products that just work!!!

Mar 11, 2012 7:54 AM in response to Deni Kasamaby Simon488,Getting really bored of iTunes now since the only versions I can get to work are v10.5 an lower. When I put any newer version on, vista throws a fit an iTunes crashes due to UAC an whatever else. I'm done wasting my time on your poorly made/tested software only to have to roll back to previous versions. When you decide to care about customer servive and not just $$$ I may decide to buy more of your stuff until then shove it along with your updates :/
For those wanting to roll back get any previous version here: http://www.oldapps.com/itunes.php

Mar 11, 2012 8:01 AM in response to Simon488by Undercover101,Having all the same problems as others have reported. Crash crash crash when on grid mode. Finally was able to switch my tv shows and movies back to the old view, but it looks lame and I like the grid view for covers. I'm hoping a patch is released very soon
