Mar 12, 2012 3:32 PM in response to csthielenby officebloke,Totally agree.
Being relatively new to mac I expected a lot more than this from Apple. I have a 450Gb music library and don't relish the prospect of back loading it all to a previous itunes release.
This is as bad as windows OS which I thought I'd escaped from. I dont want to start messing about with deleting files and moving file locations - it's the job of Apple to make sure that any software release is up to the job and clearly 10.6 is not. I can't even get iTunes to open in any way and am immediately hit with an error message on trying to open.
The silence from Apple over this is a disgrace and an insult to their customers.
Next time I hear Apple shout 'It just works' I'll laugh because it just doesn't.

Mar 12, 2012 4:18 PM in response to Deni Kasamaby Obson,I have the exact same issue. Just downloaded the Itunes upgrade and it started crashing all of a sudden after years of working perfectly fine. I am under snow leopard 10.6 and am actively contemplating popping into an apple store and have a technician reinstall Mac OS X with the provided DVD just so as to revert to the old version of itunes.
I can't believe such issues are happening to Apple now.

Mar 12, 2012 4:24 PM in response to Obsonby RealMax,I suggest the option of going back to the previous version of itunes.
Totally agree about the lack of care by Apple -- they should, by now, be aware of the problem, and at least acknowledge it (for some cases the new version crashes).
Is there a way to send a message to Apple? It is a simple matter of taking care of their customers.

Mar 12, 2012 4:25 PM in response to Obsonby RealMax,Please search, under this thread, the easy way to reinstall the previous version of itunes.
It took me a couple of minutes. Better than messing with Apple / their technicians, etc.
No need to reinstall the entire OS.

Mar 12, 2012 5:00 PM in response to Obsonby RealMax,Hi Obson
I searched for the original thread where I used to download the previous version of itunes. I couldn't locate it, unfortunately.
However, I found this link for you which may be the same:
09-Mar-2012 14:45 (in response to dmarvo)
Apple's Direct Download Link for iTunes v10.5.3 for Mac OS X.
I trust this helps. I will continue to search for the original note, and if I find it I will let you know.

Mar 12, 2012 7:52 PM in response to Gilbert Goldmanby CharethCutestory,I just downloaded the older version of iTunes. But when I tried to install it, my Mac told me that I couldn't use it becuase the iTunes library was created by a newer version of iTunes. Am I supposed to delete my iTunes library?? I don't even know what file that would be.
I have to say- this is extremely frustrating and disappointing.

Mar 12, 2012 8:30 PM in response to CharethCutestoryby Mercurio2012,I also decided to go back to the previous version of iTunes and I followed the instructions of this thread, with success:

I will wait for iTunes 10.6.1 which I hope will solve the problems of the later.
