How do I erase apps, etc. from my original iPad so that my husband can take it over now that I ordered the new iPad?
iPad, iOS 5
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch- Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
iPad,iPod,iPod Touch Recovery Mode
Be sure you run a full sync first so you don't lose anything in your account. For your husband to have his own separate account, Apple ID, iTunes Library, etc., you should create a separate user account on your computer for him to use.
So when my husband signs in under his Apple iTunes account, this will automatically delete my apps, etc. and download his, right? Thank you.
No. When you reset yours completely it will delete everything. When he connects it in his account he will restore the iOS in iTunes, then sync his own apps and data. He has to purchase his stuff under his own Apple ID. He cannot transfer anything purchased under your Apple ID.
In restoring it, won't it go back to factory settings meanin, meaning the original Operating System......4.3 or something? I upgraded it to the current 5.0 and that was a pain for me. Was hoping not to have to upgrade the OS again. OR, am I completely off base here? I am not as quick with this stuff as I used to be now that I am in my 60's. :(
I do appreciate your help and patience.
It will restore whatever the current version of iOS is in the backup or that is available for download.
I am in my 70s and just as quick as ever. I just can't remember anything. Age is not an excuse except in foot races. 😉
