iTunes 10.6 crashes every time on full screen movies

Take any movie, start playing in a small window. Click on the full screen arrows and kaboom - crash.

Apple's software QA is atrocious and discouraging.

I have a similar problem. Since doing the update today everytime i click on the movies tab itunes closes automatically. It works fine in every other aspect but i cant even view which movies I have in there. I keep doing it so it sends reports to apple cus I am a movie buff and need them to fix it asap!

I have restarted the computer to give it a kick but doesnt seem to help. I have an iMac.

I am also having this same issue. I had absolutely no problems with iTunes until I updated to 10.6. Now I click on my movies tab and iTunes blinks off instantaneously.

I just canceled my pre-order for the new 1080p AppleTV because if iTunes 10.6 is not going to work on my Mac Pro 8-core 3.0 GHz machine, then the new AppleTV is suddenly completely useless for streaming my 1080p movies to. Way to go Apple! You morons.

I am rolling back to iTunes 10.5 and will start looking for a real solution to stream to my TV in 1080p without Apple products.

But it seems completely useless to report this stuff here. No one from Apple ever reads these posts, and no users here are going to be able to solve this particular problem. What kind of support is this really? None. None at all.

pazl:

Inundate them with crash reports. File a bug at bugreport.apple.com (requires you be a free "developer"). I agree reporting here does not necessarily get to Apple. But I posted the other crash thread at macintouch and if it gets wide publicity it will get fixed. Look at the Snow Leopard security "update" that broke all sorts of things and then it got fixed.

I reported the bug to Apple and got this response yesterday:

This is a follow up to Bug ID# 11015154. After further investigation it has been determined that this is a known issue, which is currently being investigated by engineering.

Thank you for submitting this bug report. We truly appreciate your assistance in helping us discover and isolate bugs.

Same problem here PLUS movie rentals can no longer be synced and played on iPod nano 5th gen. Fortunately, I have a 3rd generation nano and an iPod video classic both can sync movies but I perfer to use my nano 5th gen. AND no warning from Apple, no message, iTunes just freezes requiring restart over and over until one figures okay its not me it's iTunes and this iPod. A warning notice when a sync is attempted would be nice with an explanation about why the 5th gen nano can no longer be used would be even nicer.

Same problems here. Called express lane. Because iTunes 10.6 is a major upgrade I was told free support for 90 days. First call got iTunes not to crash. It had to do with having a music folder and not a media folder. Next call is going to be why every time I try to sync with my iPhone or iPod or iPad iTunes crashes and will not sync.

Then There is my apple tv 1st generation which always would previously Sync whenever iTunes was opened. iTunes 10.6 does not recognize apple tv at all. So many bugs! If Steve Jobs was still running the show what would he be saying? Steve, this is NOT " just" working!
