How much RAM does an iPad3 have?

I interpreted the OP wanted to know about memory as opposed to storage, and I haven't found any specifications either.

Until Apple releases them, or iFixit takes one apart, or someone leaves one in a bar, we don't know.

I'd like to hope it's 1GB so that apps like Safari can hold onto browsing history for longer, but I doubt they've changed it. They would have made more of a song and dance about it at the launch if they had.

The reason why they've not upgraded to 1GB of RAM so far is that it has a direct effect on battery life. This itteration already has a big bump in screen pixel density, plus a more powerful CPU to drive it. Both will put extra strain on battery resources. The extra thickness hints at an increased battery size. So if RAM hasn't increased it's because they couldn't do so without increasing the size battery size and thickness of the iPad even further.

Everything is a trade off.

There is no official or clear answer to that question yet it's all speculation will have to wait for the answer from ifixit!

Had a surprise today. After emailing myself an ebook, around 30 MB.

When tried to open it, iPad 2, complained about the large file size.

If it is nothing to do with email client on iPad, then it should be the memory. It shows I should not push it!

Looking forward to hearing peoples comments when they get their new iPad's tomorrow, although they were available in Australia since they are a day ahead of the US. Isn't the International Date Line a good thing ;-)

Could the problem have been the ISP or your e-mail provider that has the e-mail limit? Depending on how you get your e-mail, they might be limiting e-mails to below a certain size. Google uses 25MB as the limit - see http://support.google.com/mail/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=8770 for more information.
