Mar 7, 2012 8:46 PM in response to Todd Howesby Bob Timmons,If both the AirPort Extreme and Time Capsule will connect to the modem using Ethernet connections, it might be possible to do what you want.
Can you provide the make and model number of your "modem"?

Mar 7, 2012 8:37 PM in response to Todd Howesby boink boink,if i have an airport extreme and a time capsule, this how i'm going to set it up.
- configure the airport extreme's ip address to a different one. change the last digit to something else. if not it will conflict with the time capsule
- modem goes to internet port of the time capsule
- from time capsule's port 1, it goes to internet port of the Airport extreme
-time capsule will handle the DHCP and the Extreme is in bridge mode, disabled dhcp
- as for the wireless settings, they will have the same for everything but the channel will be different.
easy way:
- modem goes to internet port of the time capsule
- run the wizard to configure the internet
- from time capsule's port 1, it goes to internet port of the Airport extreme
- run qozard for the extreme and select the extending the range
the reason i do manual is because of the ip conflict that might occur from the modem.
