iPhone 4 crashes when editing photos in the camera roll? (iOS 5.1)

Yes. Just occured:

- iPhone 4S / iOS 5.1

- photo - edit - crop

- immediately does a "fast" reset. I get a spinning "dashed" wheel, then blank / black screen, then Apple symbol, and back to home screen.

- Tested 3X, same results.

- Will bring this to the Genious Bar attention.

having the same exact issue, seems to only happen on the last picture in my camera roll.

Same issue here with an iPad 2 that is also running iOS 5.1 -- I just updated my iOS this afternoon and I can't edit any photos.

Iphone 4s same issue. First attempt got a fast respring and on second attempt got a full reboot. Ok just tried an older phota and cropped no problem but when I attemptes one taken ( actually a screenshot ) the update another full reboot.

I just tried editing a photo and it worked well for me...I have an iPhone 4 too and iOS 5.1 😐

Yes, I guess I am not the only one experiencing this issue, on my iPhone 4S, I am crashing on photo edits specifically cropping, and I did this attempt 5 times and crashed 5 times, so I'm not even able to do it too, could it be because of other photo apps that I am trying to import into their app for edit? just a thought

I have the same issue, normally happens on screenshots but does not happen all the time, might work fine for 5 and then the same one crashes the phone every time. Has been happening since the latest update.

Happened to me today and was quite annoying that I couldn't crop a screenshot.

I was experiencing the problem using iPhone 4S and iOS 5.1.

I've checked and it does not happen on photos - only on screen shots (PNGs).

Also, it doesn't happen on iPhone 4 with iOS 5.1 (checked with a colleague's phone).

It doesn't matter that it's the last photo in the Camera Roll (it could also happen with other screenshots in the Camera Roll). It crashed on a few PNGs in my camera roll.

So, it is certainly a problem, but I think it's localized to screen shots on iPhone 4S with iOS 5.1.

Please let me know if/when resolved.

Same thing here

I can edit photos but if I take a screenshot and try to edit it it freezes. Then I get the loading bar and the screen turns white, then black, then shuts off. After 2 sec it reeboots. I'm expecting a 5.1.1 to be realesed soon to fix that.

I tried taking a throw-away picture on the theory that this was a problem just for the last picture on the camera roll (above in the thread). I still got the crash even after the screenshot I was trying to crop wasn't the last picture any longer.

Yep, same thing here. Except I have an iPod 4g. I dont know if it's because I downloaded another camera app (fish eye lens) or because it fell :/ I'm really worried. Hope we all get down to the bottom of this!

Mine JUST started doing it, but it's only on certain photos. Idk why. Doesn't make sense. I'm sorry you are having this problem, but I'm glad it's not just me!! =)

Discovered the same issue today. Trying to edit a screen capture crashes my iphone 3GS. Only happens to screencaps.

The same issue has been happening to my iphone 4! Is there a fix??
