Q: I can't authorise Waveburner

Hi, I'm having real issues authorising waveburner. I've finished installing Logic Studio on my new imac, Logic is behaving properly, but waveburner's authorisation refuses to "take" every time i start waveburner it seams it wants my serial number and (because i've upgraded through the versions of logic) my xskey (if any of you guys remember that thing.) I put in the serial number, then insert my xskey and waveburner starts and works properly, if i quit and restart the app it works, but as soon as i restart the machine, it asks for the serial again grrr its a LOOOONNG serial number. Any help will be greatly appreciated! (PS I've tried repairing permissions, no other copy is running on another machine etc.)

Thanks, Mike

That makes three of us. Had some flaky HD issues, thought a brand new Lion and new HD would solve them. It did. But while Logic took the serial and Xkey, Waveburner does not. I tried copying over old prefs and app support files, no dice.

    Anyone else?

Which actually makes four of us!

The same here with my MacBookPro running Lion 10.7.3

I had some similar issues using Soundtrack Pro on my OS X SnowLeopard desktop Mac. The problem with this has been that I was running Logic 9 together with the older version 2 of Soundtrack Pro. After upgrading all my workstations to the new Soundtrack Pro the problem has been solved...

...just to come back on Lion using Waveburner...

Hi - I had the same problem. I also couldn't open Soundtrack Pro.  Logic was OK but it didn't carry the serial number. CHECK THAT YOU CAN OPEN MainStage, and if you can, look at 'about' and you will see a different serial number to the one on the box you installed Logic Pro from the original disk.

To save tine I suggest you copy this into TextEdit and the original one as well - paste the newer one into the Waveburner popup box, it will prompt you for the old one as well, then the registration page and away you go!

Not much of a help but until a solution of your prob is at hand, you could type that ser# once and park it on your desktop……

Are you aware of the fact that Waveburner is one of those EOL products Apple every so often surprises us with?

    Have a nice day!

    Hi all,

    MacPro 10.7.5

    Waveburner 1.6.1

    Mainstage 2.1.3

LogicPro 9 installed and up and running.

Could register Waveburner with my Emagic! XSKey and does start without asking for the serial, also after rebooting, without the need of insertion of the XSKey.

Could initially NOT authorize Waveburner without the XS Key by entering the LogicPro 8 upgrade serial.

Could register Mainstage with the LogicPro 8 license code, but not with the XSKey which didn't have the Mainstage license (v2?)  on it.

Hope this might help some of you.

I've got the same problem - asking for the serial number and to insert my old Emagic dongle every time I start up Waveburner.

Did you ever figure out how to get round this?

    Thanks,

    Curtis

Hi, I'm afraid not, I've just had to factor in an extra USB slot for the dongle if I want to access waveburner. Waveburner seems to be a legacy app now, unless a big surprise is in store, it's exclusion from the overhaul for pro X puts it in the metaphorical dusty storage room for me, along with my Atari.
