Lost iphone in mexico

Hi i lost my phone 2 days ago in Mexico i do have the find my phone feature but my phone was in the airplane mode. I did recieve a msg that it was found but i could not see its location on a map any ideas thank you

With Airplane mode enabled, Find My iPhone cannot work.

You received a message from what that it was found? With Airplane mode enabled, a message cannot be sent. And if you didn't have the Passcode Lock feature enabled, all someone has to do is turn Find My iPhone off with your iCloud account settings on your iPhone or turn Location Services off.

If the device is connected to wifi, then it will still work. We just found my boyfriend's iPad and was able to ping it. He was able to access find my iphone through his iPhone (also on airplane mode). We knew it was in the house, we just didn't know where it was. On the other hand, my iPad is at the condo (no Wifi) and find my iphone can't find it.
