hook up external hard drive to apple tv
I current have a PC that I use as a media server. I'd like to get the new Apple TV and have it hook up to an external hard drive that has all my movies on it. Is there a way to do this?

The 1st gen ATV could. However the ATV2 and ATV3 do not support an external HD. You can however import the movies into Itunes w/o moving the files from the external drive to desktop PC's internal drive .Under the Advance Preferences Uncheck the follow: Copy files to Itunes Media Folder option.
