Why iPhoto is not avable for iPad 1, I don't need a camera to edit my photos.

Why I can't use iPhoto on my iPad 1? I don't need a camera.

I have the iPod touch 4th gen and this app is incompatible with it, although it has a front and back camera.

Think it is the Ram and Processor ( Apple A4 cpu and 256MB of Ram in iPod ).

On my iPad2 it runs ( Apple A5 cpu and 512MB )

Frustrating that to have members of the current iOS5 iDevice family ruled out , yes.

iPhoto CAN be installed on an iPod Touch 4G and also an iPad 1, just use the iPhone Configuration Utility download:

http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1465 (OSX)

http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1466 (Windows)

Just add the Application (after downloading in iTunes) to the program, connect your iPod/iPad and click "Install".

However: You can't sync apps with iTunes after doing this (it will remove iPhoto)

It will work perfectly on both iPad and iPod Touch

But as we've already said, camera is not the hardware, that would be necessary to run and use the iPhoto. The iPad 1 has Apple A4 chip as well as the iPhone 4 has - and there is iPhoto for iPhone 4. So I think iPad 1 actually DOES meet the hardware requirements NECESSARY to run (and actually use too) the iPhoto.

And if there is some othere reason, why I can't buy the iPhoto on my iPad 1, they should write it there. "It doesn't have the front camera" is just not a reason for me.

Go read the iPhoto page in iTunes. Apple explicitly stated the requirements and the original iPad is not listed. Why are people still confused about this? Whenever you buy a software, you would read the hardware requirements first to see if your device/computer can run the program. Why is this suddenly a "new" thing and upsetting people?
