how tp fix apple ibook g4 dvd drives problem with drive can't insert disks

it seems like there another disk already ther but it won't eject

ibook g4, Mac OS X (10.4.5)

Hello! You'll have better luck posting in the iBook section. Holding down the mouse button at startup will eject the cd unless the drive is damaged. Tom

Hi Powergraphix,

Welcome to Apple Discussions

By fixing it yourself, you will be voiding any outstanding warranties. I don't suggest trying to fix it yourself (by opening case or sticking something in there) because it is a complex machine. You might want to bring it to your local Apple Store/Reseller.

Hi and Welcome,

It's alway worth doing a search of Apple's support page before posting. This article explains how to eject a CD when all else fails.

Always best to post hardware related issues to the relevant forum in future.
