How do you specify 72 dpi when resizing images for a website? I have iPhoto 09 v.8.1.2 (424)

You don't.
Export using the File -> Export option. In the resulting dialogue the "Size" setting will determine the dimensions of the photo (length by breadth) and the Jpeg Quality will decide the level of compression used. For web use medium is usually just fine.

Okay. That is what I have been doing. I export each image three times, 150x150, 320x320, and 500x500px (for thumbnail, medium & larges). However, I've noticed that some of my photo files seem way too big, although they're loading fairly quickly. I was told that each photo should probably be no bigger than 20kb, but I've noticed that some are up to 80! Is that perhaps because I've mistakenly left the jpg quality at "high"?
Unless the viewer is on ancient dial-up I wouldn't worry the 80kb

Well that makes me feel better! Thanks, Terrance.
