have iPhone 4s having problems connecting to 2Wire WiFi ATT Uverse. Symptoms are I connect leave for 24 hours and iPhone will not recognize WiFi until I power off the 2Wire router (same issues for iPad)

Sounds like a problem with your router. not sure if this link will help but take a look http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
I would also try googling your problem esp. the 2wire router.
Also there no need to start two threads on the same topic. Google is your friend.
