I've got an iphone 4 that is over a year old which has just recently stopped taking a charge. It seems to work just fine when I can charge it but it frequently will not accept a charge no matter how I try to charge it.
Does anyone have any guess how much this would cost to get repaired if I take it an apple store?

First of all, the warranty is NOT international. iPhones have different specs in different countries. So you must take it to the US if you bought it in the US. Or if the "reseller" bought it in the US as well.
But I am confused as you say you bought it from a reseller in Egypt? The only iPhone resellers are the authorized iPhone carriers:
Vodafone, Mobinil, Etisalat.
Did you buy from them? They are the ones that offer support. If you got it anywhere else, you got it at an UNAUTHORIZED reseller which seems that you did.

does it matter if i didn't buy the iphone from the US .. i bought it unlocked from Egypt and we don't have "apple stores" here only authorised Re-sllers .... can i change it from the US??
Apple won't take a non-US phone in the US. But the reseller might. Contact them.
the Re-seller told me to change it in the US , i mean isn't all iphones are the same and made in the same factory does it matter which country i bought it from ?
How to know if my iphone was bought from the US ? , can i use the serial to know this stuff ?
Ask the person/reseller who sold it to you.
