Upgrade makes appletv completely unresponsive to remote, completely useless. Any answers?

Rarely use the bundled remote but just tested it and worked fine. Have you tried holding down menu and the left arrow (for six seconds)?

I'm having the same issue. And I've tried the pairing and unpairing. I've even got the apple tv to stream music from the macbook. So it's recognizing the library. I can even put it to sleep using the remote. It just doesn't want to respond to any normal inputs. How do you know if the Apple TV has responded to the pairing?

Have the same problem. It didn't work.

Try a reboot of the ATV (Put to sleep, unplug the power, leave a few minutes, plug power back in)

I'll try that. It's weird, I get the main menu. But it just won't recognize the inputs from the remote. THe blinking light even responds to the remote. I've unplugged it twice leaving it unconnected for 30 seconds. I keep getting this same issue. I tried using my remote app but the apple tv doesn't show up on it. Just the library.

Should that light be blinking??? It's blinking about 4 times a second.

No, that's not normal. I would recommend grabbing a micro usb, completely disconnecting device and restore in iTunes.

I'm pretty sure I don't have a micro cable.

You can find them very cheaply online. Or take it in to an Apple store
