Rented movies not playing

I loaded rented movies (from iTunes) to my iPad2. But when I try to play, a pop up advises that it cannot open the film. This is happening with each movie loaded. Can someone advise what I might be doing wrong?

I suspect it worked when offline because you had a connection when you started the movie.


Like you, I'm pretty certain I've started a rented/downloaded iTunes movie without a connection but many have reported they could not. A Google search will show that some have and some haven't... I have no idea at this point. 😕

This happens on one of our newer iPads. But not on the iPad 1 I use. There's definitely a bug withy the newer iPads or IOS.


The iPad 1 has a different bug - It can't download an entire movie. Gs to about 99% and starts again. I have to download to a PC then transfer it. Also - last time it didn't delete the movie after 24 hours - I hope they never fix that bug.
