Why do iPads and iPhones have bluetooth if they can not be paired? What do I need to pair these two and share files?
iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G, iOS 5.1
They were designed to work that way. If you want to pair using bluetooth that you need to get different hardware.

They can be paired, but you need to be using suitably equipped apps that support peer-to-peer Bluetooth functions - such as multi-player games, photo sharing apps etc.
They can also be paired to headphones, speakers, car stereos, headsets etc.
I find it ironic that I can Bluetooth a photo from my simple little SAMSUNG phone to my Mac but cannot do the same with my iPad Mini.
Reminds me of a line from a talking computer on Star Trek "I am not programmed to respond in that area."
Why do iPhones and iPads have bluetooth if they cannot be paired? It is so frustrating!! I've even tried downloading BW lite. Still can't pair the two.
