New Garage Band update is corrupting previous song files?

I have lots of room on my iPod 2 and I have about 20 songs that I created before the latest upgrade. Now when I open a song sometimes GarageBand will just quit while trying open the song. I will sometimes get a message about illegal text. If I am able to open a song, when attempting to save the song, GB will simply quit. Or if the song actuallly saves, then i cannot reopen the song. Anyone else experiencing thiese problem?

I am having a similar problem. I worked for hours on a song, saving intermittently on an iPad. Finally finished and tried to save, and I got a message saying my song was corrupt, and GB quit. I tried force closing and then reopen ing, but since I quit on the corrupt song, I would get the error message and GB would close again. I reset GB In settings and was at least able to open GB, but that song was still corrupt.

I opened the last copy of the song and started working again, saving intermittently again. Wouldn't you know it, just as I was about to save and go back to my songs, this file was once again corrupted. This has now happened a total of four times.

My questions:

is this a GB issue that needs an update?

Is there something I am doing wrong?

Is there any way to fix the files, or open them on my iMac...I would really hate to lose so much work.

FYI. the error message reads "Warning, damaged song (Ginst)"
