after ios 5.1 update apps won't download

I'm having the same issue, except I'm not getting an error message. My apps are just "Waiting..." for some reason.

I have the same issue on my iPod touch with iOS 5.1.

I have the same problem on my iphone 4. It did not start immediately after updating to iOS 5.1. Just started a couple of days back and is driving me nuts. Any apps that I have tried to update go under the waiting mode and wont do anything. Tried to delete some of them and re-install but like the others have mentioned, new app installation again goes under waiting but nothing happens.

Tried several restarts on the phone but no good.

Any suggestions???

Just found a slotion to my problem. I had some podcast downlaods pening in my itunes. I went to itunes and deleted those pending downlaods and then the apps that were showing waiting, just started loading. Worked for me!

I also had some podcasts waiting to delete as you mention. However, my apps did not start downloading. Any other suggestions?

Try a hard restart

Hold the home and power button together. DONT let go when you see Slide to power off. DONT let go when you see a blank screen. LET Go when you see the apple logo. See if this will get things going.

That didn't work for me either. Ugh.

Having the same issue here. Started 2-3 days ago. Tried all of the above.

One thing that oddly worked for me was to open up the AppStore and to sign out of my account. After I did that the apps mysteriously started downloading. See if that works for you.

restarted few times already.

I do not have pending downloads on itunes.

I tried to sign out and in, in appstore, but no luck.

is apple working on this issue? seems like more and more people are affected.

I'm experiencing the same problem. Not able to dOwnload apps. They just remain in waiting state forever. Is there any fix?

Same problem with iPhone 4 in Uk. Worked for a couple of days but now can't download or update. I have noticed a few threads on this!

I started having this same problem today after upgrading some apps. I had already installed apps succesfully on ios 5.1. I could finally solve the problem doing backup followed by restore from backup in iTunes.

Same problem here (iPod touch 4th gen). I'm unable to download/update apps or podcasts, etc. It gets stuck on "Waiting..." every single time. Tried all of the tips mentioned above, none of them worked. Any help would be appreciated!
