iPhone 4S cannot enter appointments in calendar

My boss is having problems entering appointments in her calendar. The problem gets fixed if I do a hard boot on the phone, but only briefly. I booted the phone yesterday - she could add appts during the day - 10:15pm last night I get an email that she can't add them again. Any suggestions on how to remedy this situation?
