Not all my movie purchases are showing up, does anyone else have this problem?

With the new software update for apple tv, it now supports movie purchases on cloud. It only worked with some of my movies. I still have 4 that are not showing up that I bought from iTunes. Is there a glitch in the system? Is anyone else having this issue?

What I meant was if I purchase a movie with my iTunes account via my AppleTV(1st gen.) there is a chance I wont be able to watch it on my AppleTV (3rd gen.) Yes, of course I can stream my movies from iTunes desktop to my ATV but is this what we really want, an AppleTV that is dependent to a desktop?

All I'm hoping is to see is a warning that I can not stream a movie from the cloud before buying it. I have 4 AppleTVs at home, (2) 1st gen and (2) 3rd gen. I guess rule of the thumb is not to purchase movies/shows from my 1st gens.

I don't have a 1st generation ATV, so I can't go look, but I would suggest that you go look at the info for any movie a bit more closely to see what it tells you. I'm sure you just missed it because you probably weren't looking for it. Which is understandable.

For example, in iTunes, when I look at the info for "We Bought a Zoo" I see the notice that it will not be available in iTunes in the Cloud. And on my iPad and iPhone I also see the notice. So it is probably there on the 1st gen. Apple TV as well.

If you have the movie/tv show on your computer, you can open iTunes on your computer and play it. There will be a square with a triangle in it on the option bar that will let you select "play it on your Apple TV". This has worked for movies that are not on the cloud for me so far without issue. You do not have to have home sharing up either. I have my account on the Apple TV and my wife's account for home sharing and I am able to play from my computer. I too would rather be able to see all my videos on apple TV, but this should at least let you watch you paid for videos on you TV which is the point of apple TV.

In a way, im glad to see others experiencing my same issue, but disheartened no one has found a solution yet. I had 13 movies listed in my itunes account that were all redeemed with codes from my blu-ray purchases when i first set up my new atv2. Only 5 were reflected under purchased movies. Tech support stated i needed to put original digital copy disc of the bluray's i purchased into dvd tray on my pc and re-enter the codes. Maybe that info will be more useful to some of you, but it only worked for 3 of my movies. Now i had 8 purchased movies on atv. The others went through like normal, except 1, but none of them ever appeared on atv. "Ninja Assasin" gave me an error code stating the movie was no longer carried on itunes, which is untrue and is currently on itunes. It seems as if i can watch it free though, as there are no rental/purchase fees. I had deciced to cut my loses at 8/13, but have recently added 4 more movies that are not showing up on atv. So im currently sitting at 8/17. One of these is a current film, "chronicle". It only has a rental fee but no purchase option. Could there be a correlation between whether itunes is selling the movie or renting it? All my redeemed digital movies are listed in purchase history. I've tried resyncing, signing out/signing back in, deauthorizing/authorizing and restarting/resetting all my apple devices with no resolution. After much frustration, i recontacted apple support only to receive another generic email explaining where to find them on my pc's hard drive. That's nice, i already know where to find them, now how about someone from apple explaining how to actually make them show up on atv? I realize i could just stream from pc or ipad, but that just seems silly when one of the reasons i purchased atv was to access my digital movies and imatch music without lifting my butt off the couch.

I just looked at my purchased films content. I'm now missing 3 films. Having a library of over 430 films, I can't be expected to know exactly which ones are missing. I've called apple in the past and complained. They claimed they were going to reimburse me, but not 100% certain if they did or not.

So what am I to do now? Do I need to track and record every purchase I've made? Where does my money go to? If apple can't keep the films in their library, then they need to refund everyone. Do I need to go back to purchasing blu rays? This DRM is a joke. Once purchased, a person should be able to access it at anytime whether or not its in the cloud.

i experienced the same issue & the only solution i had found was to uninstall itunes, delete the media folder "itunes" reinstall it; then everything showed up that was in the cloud; i then went into my account to hidden items and there saw all the movies that were not showing and unhid them. prior to uninstalling and deleting the media folder the movies did not show in "hidden"

I had the same issue, I had 28 missing movies that I knew of, plus a few digital copies I forgot I had and a few other itunes downlonads I forgot about as well. Mainly because I can't keep them all on my laptop hard drive, so they are externally kept. So I couldn't figure out why they weren't on my list, but then I had a thought. Instead of checking in the computers widget I checked the movies wideget and the tv shows one and then checked in purchases and every single movie and tv show I bought or got from a digital copy was there even those not available in the cloud, and I was able to watch them no problem. Added my other apple id to the list in the itunes section of the settings and then did the same thing and there were the rest of my missing movies.

There is still one missing but that is unfortunately on an apple id that for some reason even though it's my aol screen name not email address, because it was before they needed an email address. It will not take it even though the UN and password are correct. Might have to contact apple about that, maybe I can get a re-download of ther item.

Not all my movie purchases are showing up, does anyone else have this problem?
