Does the iPad's dock still work for charging ? Have you got a different cable, USB port on your computer, or computer to try it with ?

There is no USB port on an iPad. I presume you mean the Dock connector.

How have you determined that it's a problem with the port? Being unable to connect to your computer is far more often a software issue, not hardware. What troubleshooting have you done?

Barring any obvious signs of damage or neglect, as long as your iPad is under warranty they should exchange your device. My port died on mine and Best Buy exchanged it for a new one. The Apple store would exchange it for a refurbished one provided it was under warranty and not damaged.

So I'd take it into your local apple store

Im having the same problem and my ipad is 2 1/2 years old. Any one know the cost to replace the connector when it is out of warrenty? Or even if it is replaceble.

Have you tried going to Reset/General/Reset/Reset All Network Connections?

I ran the battery all the way down to 1 % and hard reset it and that did the trick. Kinda weird".
