iPhone 3GS camera stuck on closed shutter

Hi! I have a really important question:

How do I fix my iPhone 3GS camera?

Recentally, it stopped working.. Whenever I open the regular camera, it won't fully open.

It just stays locked on the closed shutter.

The same thing happens when I switch it to video.

I've tried looking up solutions and deleting other camera using apps.

Nothing has worked

It was just all of a sudden too.

I was taking a picture, it froze, and hasn't worked since. (happened on Monday)

Even the newest update hasn't helped.

Any suggestions?

Please and thank you! <3

(I've read that some people did try to restore theirs and it didn't work, so I'm very hesitant to do so..)

If you want to rule out software issues, Restore is the next step. If you first backup your iPhone to iTunes, you can then Restore it from that backup. This preserves your data (minus messages).

The disadvantage of restoring fom backup is that you might be copying back to the iPhone the same corrupted file that might be creating the problem in the first place. But it's definitely worth trying.
