I spilt coffee on my key board I few hours ago and just wiped it off. It worked fine when I did that and then I left it for a few hours just on stand by. Now have come back to go on the laptop the key board doesn't work. Only a few of the keys work but because of that I cant get on the laptop because I cant enter my password. What do I do?

you should turn it off and remove the battery (if you can) and take it to get it diagnosed. Spilling liquid on a mac is almost always a guaranteed very expensive repair.
It's probably fried, sorry to say, because you tried to use it before it was totally dried out. Coffee is worse for it then water too.
For now turn it upside down on a towel to get excess liquid out.
Hopefully you havent fryed your machine and I would suggest if your mac boots up ok try pluging a usb keyboard in or a wireless one to it and see if that gets you out of the fix.
I will need cleaning by a profesional though I would imagine
What i suspect has happened is the coffee has dried with the heat of the machine and is blocking the electrical conections through the keys

I hate to correct someone who is nice enough to help, but please do not try to run your Mac anymore. Running it could cause more damage. I know. I have a friends Macbook here that she insisted on running after a milk spill and it won't even startup anymore. It's total junk now....a paper weight!
