Error -37: a bad filename or volume name was encountered.

I got that after converting from mpg -> mp4 with videora iPod converter. It happens the same with avi -> mp4 etc.

I need to be able to open the mp4 file so I can export it to m4v to play on my iPod.

I noticed a few days ago that (at least on my box) Quicktime seems to have "issues" with >31 characters anywhere in the file path.

Is it possible that you have some folder along the way to your movie that has more than 31 charaters?

Shorten if necessary and see if that works.

Jason, you are an absolute legend. Infinite thank you's. U wer right, my mpeg 4 filename was greater than 31 characters, as soon as i shortened it, it opened. Thank you. Not even the Apple technician could tell me that...?
