what is iCloud?
What is iCloud? Can I use it as a storage unit for photos etc?
MacBook, Mac OS X (10.7.1)

Kappy has some good links for you there. Basically, iCloud is a way of storing contacts, calendars, documents, music and everything so that you can access all of that from any iCloud compatible device via your apple ID 🙂

That's not entirely correct, only IOS documents can be stored in iCloud and music is handled by iTunes not iCloud, there is NO photo storage other than a limited (in time) stream from PhotoStream.
If the OP wants to store files, be they docs, spreadsheets or pictures iCloud will not do that.
