Since this happened I haven't been able to use my home button at all; but I've been using another way to get back to my "home" screen. - How can I fix my home button? Please help.

had water happen to several of my ios devices always saved them by putting them in with rice in a bowl and placed on the radiatior for 48hours fixed them right up but if it's been awhile since the water you may be too late
you can bring your phone into Apple and pay $199.00 for an out of warranty replacement
you can bring your phone to a 3rd party repair shop
you can do nothing
you can buy a new phone
Choice is yours.
