Safari Quicktime Plugin Not Working

Hey everyone,


I have read 10 - 20 topics about this problem and have found NO solution.


  • First problem: Quicktime Plugin.plugin was missing.
  • Solution: Using Pacifist I extracted the Quicktime Plugin.plugin and installed it to hd/library/internet plug-ins
  • Result: Still not working


Quicktime version: 10.0

Safari version: 5.1.2


I am very frustrated about this problem, their seems to be no solution and I have no idea what to do, I hope somebody can help me?

I think that Linc Davis has a solution. At least it worked for me. If you have the plug-in installed do this:

Quit Safari.


Open the Library folder in your home folder as follows:


☞ If running Mac OS X 10.7 or later, hold down the option key and select Go â–č Libraryfrom the Finder menu bar.


☞ If running an older version of Mac OS X, select Go â–č Go to Folder
 from the Finder menu bar and enter “~/Library” (without the quotes) in the text box that opens.


Delete the following items from the Library folder:


Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db

Preferences/com.apple.quicktime.plugin.preferences.plist

Preferences/QuickTime Preferences


Relaunch Safari and test.
