word app investment

There a number of word related applications on the APP store, and i plan toget an Ipad, a case + the keyboard. I like know, which Word application is worth investing my money in? I plan to use for educational purposes, so

My needs include

- Easy Transfer Microsoft Office docs from PC - IPAD / IPAD - PC

- Edit & create border header's

But i found a few APPS that i not sure is worth investing to?

- Pages (iwork site going offline july) $10.49

My favorite is Pages, can't beat the price and as long as you aren't doing some really esoteric formatting it is great...lean and mean.

i like know also why that app is good and is it good for quick transfer and use if i want put straight onto pc and edit, or tranfer other way around?

There are several ways to transfer DropBox, email, sync...all will get the material back and forth. That is not a function of the word processing software, though.

Pages does a fine job of working on Word documents.

Yes it certainly does, through iTunes File Sharing.

That I haven't tried, will have to pull out Pages manual and see, or post over on the Pages group and see what the pros say.

email can work for me, what about recieving? PC - IPAD, tha being the pc i use pc @ my tertiery which has nothing on it that id need, like itunes.

You can email it from your PC and still open it on your iPad.

the atatchment in your email can be Opened with pages? once installed on your device? that can be handy, i should thought that, cause i open email atatchments with adobe reader + ibooks currently
