when you charge your ipod, try opening iTunes so it can connect to itunes to charge. If it still doesnt work, than by a new charger or buy an iHome and charge it on that. Hope this help !

Try the standard fixes:
- Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.
Sometimes the prong inside where u plug the charger get bent on the newer ipods. look in there and see if there are any bent prongs. if there are try and bend them strait with a touthpick or tweasers or something. if not try the apple store and see if they can help you
you should blow into the charger hole in both the ipod and the charger then plug it back in it worked for me hope it help u bye

Try blowing on each end of the cable your useing to charge. Qnd your computer's usb and your ipod's charging plug, hope this helped!
I have 2 ways of dealing with this.
1.Try going on recovery maybe itunes will detect it when it is plugged in.
2.Try a new charger

When your ipod starts hold down the Power button for 4 seconds
then Hold the home button down too for 15 seconds
Then let go of the power button NOT THE HOME BUTTON For about 20 or 15 seconds.

Normally when i do this it will pop-up on itunes which should happen with this but note when doing this it erases all the data and puts it back to the way it came.I recommend backing everything up before you try this
Just buy a new charger everything will be fine.
Trust me it happens to me blow in it the charger and iPod and/or take it to apple
