What free DVD burner software can I download that fits my computer'sspecifications?

I want to burn a 700MB to 800MB .mov or .avi video from my computer to a DVD? I have bought some DVD+R 16X dvds 4.7GB to burn it on but what free software can I download that fits my computer's specifications will do it?

Again we need to know in what format you intend to play this. My TV's DVD player, for example, will play (some) AVI files and I can just burn them onto media and play them straight from that. If you want these as conventional style DVDs then that's another matter. The only free DVD authoring software I know of is Sizzle 0.5 It is not very user friendly, is not being developed any longer, and I couldn't always get the DVDs produced by it to work. Otherwise you're looking at something commercial like iDVD (you will have to find a used copy somewhere) or maybe Toast (I haven't used it but I have read some versions will do basic DVD authoring).

It sounds like either the PRAM batteripy is near death at over 4 years of age, or the optical drive is damaged and thinks it is a combo drive. If memory serves me correctly there was an iMac G4 Superdrive firmware update. Was that ever applied? If not, make sure the battery is less than 4 years old, and then apply it.
