    Hi...

Try installing the Mac OS X 10.5.8 Combo Update

Then restart your Mac, try Safari.

If that didn't help, an archive and install will place a new system folder on the hard drive including Safari.

Instructions here > Installing Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard

As with any installation, make sure and backup your important data first.

I did an archive and install and Safari now works.

Now I have another problem.  I opened Itunes and it gave me this message: the file itunes library cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of itunes.  I downloaded the 10.6.1 version and now that doesn't open because it says Quicktime needs to be version 7.5.5 or newer.  My version is 7.2.1. I did a software update and it syas my software is up to date.
