I can't log into the YouTube app although I CAN login to YouTube.Com. I even deleted my previous YouTube/gMail account but to no avail.
What's going on?

Have you contacted Google customer/techical support?
A box pops up that says: AUTHENTICATION FAILED. THE PASSWORD OR USERNAME YOU ENTERED IS INCORRECT.
Which, in itself, is incorrect, as I can login to YouTube on my iPad 2 using whatever browser & I can also login using any computer & any browser -- just not the YouTube *app*.
And yes, I contacted GOOGLE customer/technical support & was told in classic pass the buck/runaround fashion that it is the YouTube *app* that is the problem and, as such, makes it an *Apple* problem, so come here.
And there we are ....
The YouTube app is not an 100% Apple product. Google had plenty of participation with the app.
The login with the app is being confirmed or denied by Google.
Have you tried powering your iPhone off and on and/or tried a reset to see if this makes any difference?
I don't know who's a 100% of whatever -- I'm just tellng you what GOOGLE CS told *me*.
And yes -- not only did I power my iPad 2 off & restart 3 times, but I also rebooted 3 times.
Alas, I am stuck with the same result ....
Can ANYONE help me, please?

You have to understand the "GOOGLE CS" was just some person that managed to get a job one rung higher than the person that cold calls you to sell insurance.
I am constantly surprised by the number of people that give the call centre operatives the status of "Google says..."

Hello mate, I was having same problem, eventually gave up but recently created my own channel on youtube desktop site to upload a vid and hey presto!! I can now login to the youtube app on iPhone. Try it if u havent already, hope this helps.

Same sort of answer as the first one but just subscribe to something on YouTube on your computer then the app lets you in.

You know, judging from all of the similiai topics here on the Apple messageboard, this is a HUMONGOUS problem Google absolutely needs to fix.
But this's been happening for a couple of years now.
And you would THINK that with such flagship products as both YouTube and iPad, that they'd get on the stick with this one.
But they haven't.
So I guess all of those stories I read written about Google really ARE true -- that in the end, they really just don't give a **** because they're such a tremendously large corporate entity.
Oh well ....

Instead of creating a new account you can do it like this: (it's stupid but you only have to do it once)
Sign into YouTube (desktop site)
Account- settings- security
Turn on 2 step verification (they send a code to your phone)
Enter the code
You will then be prompted to generate a password for the YouTube app ( if not you can find it in settings)
SIgn into the app using your username and the generated password..
It should work!
This is the quickest, easiest fix for an annoying and inexcusable glitch. Thanks.
