Q: iOS 5.1 iPad 2 Wifi Issues

Ever since updating to iOS5.1 on my iPad 2 I've been having issues with connecting to my wifi.

I have a Cisco E4200V2 that I bought about 3 weeks ago. On iOS5.0.1 I had no issues at all, but since iOS5.1, my iPad 2 is stuck in a loop trying to connect. And I've tried it a 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz on different channels and different security (even with no security) and it's stuck.

I've gone over to a friends house and it connects to his wifi so I'm ruling out a possible software glitch.

So why isn't my iPad2 not working on a cisco router? It was working just fine.

And I have my iPhone 4 which is now running iOS5.1 and it can connect to my wifi.

Try going going into Settings > Reset > Reset Network Settings.  Once done, re-enter your network router password and see if you can access if from there.

    KISS!

Try powering down the router, wait ten seconds and power it back up again.

I've done that about 35 times since yesterday. Still doesn't work. I even did a hard reset on my router, and restored my iPad2.

Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398

    Additional things to try.

Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

On your iPad go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings and see if that enables you to connect.

If none of the above suggestions work, look at this link.

I've done all of that and nothing.

Again, it's stuck in a loop with a Cisco router.

Now this is what I have for security:

    WPA2/WPA Mixed Mode

    WPA2

    WPA

    WPA2/WPA Enterprise

    WPA2

    WPA

    WEP

    Also with channels.

I used to be able to get on the 5GHz band and be fine, but I can't even get onto the 2.4GHz band...

I really need to get this fixed so I can get my notes from school off of this.

On the 5GHz band I can get the IP address and the Subnet Mask sometimes.

Now I can see the 2.4GHz band I can get the IP address and Subnet Mask but nothing else...

Now I'm getting somewhere but I can't access my router at all still...

Please note that I have a dual band router and I have disabled one of the bands and tried connecting and still did nothing.

Please, does anyone know what I can do to get this to work?

My upgrade to iOS 5.1 works fine. My wife's won't recognize the wifi. Same network. Both iPad 2. The router does see her device.

    Try rebooting the router.

Having similar issues with a Cisco Linksys E2500.  Last night I updated my iPad 2 to iOS 5.1 and now it endlessly cycles looking for networks.  When I type in the name of the router, I get an error message "Could not scan for wireless networks."

I tried turning it off and on.  I tried resetting network settings.  I tried resetting the entire iPad.  I rebooted the router.  I tried the suggestions on http://appletoolbox.com/2010/04/ipad-wi-fi-problems-comprehensive-list-of-fixes/ (aside from some of the router fixes that my router doesn't seem to have as options).

I can't even see the neighbor's WiFi networks.  My iPhone can see everything just fine and dandy, so I know they are out there.  And I updated that yesterday too.  Any other suggestions?
