How do I reverse email order in mail?

On my iPhones and IPods incoming mail has the newest messages at the bottom of the inbox. That is the way it is in Mail on my MBPro too. On my iPad it is the reverse and I can't seem to figure out how to switch it or if switching it is even possible.

Does anyone know how to reverse the order?

Thanks.

Who wants their mail sorted by date with the oldest on top?

I bet many do, and Mac OS X Mail seems to like that setup as well. What, though, if you'd love the most recent message on top — or to sort your mailbox by a different criterion altogether?

Fortunately, changing — or reversing — a folder's sort order is easy (if not obvious) in Mac OS X Mail.

Change or Reverse the Mail Sorting Order in Mac OS X Mail

To sort your messages differently in Mac OS X Mail:

  • Make sure the column by which you want to sort is visible.
    • Select View | Columns from the menu to see what's available.
    • In addition to Date Sent (which is the date given in the email), there's the more accurateDate Received, for example, that makes sure no emails with wacky dates show up out of order.
  • Click the desired column to sort.
  • Click again to reverse the sort order.
  • Optionally, remove the column again using View | Columns.

Hope I Helped,

Simmm

Make Mac OS X Mail Show Conversations Chronologically from Top to Bottom

To set up Mac OS X Mail so that the most recent message in a conversation appears at the bottom (and the oldest on top):

  • Select Mail | Preferences… from the menu in Mac OS X Mail.
  • Go to the Viewing category.
  • Make sure Show most recent message at the top is not checked.

To see conversations in reverse chronological order, have Show most recent messages at the top checked.

  • Close the Viewing preferences window.
