iphone bluetooth macbook not supported

I am having a great amount of difficulty getting Keynote remote to work over bluetooth. On my iPad the Macbook Pro fails to connect, it just stays at the point where you put in the code. More frustrating however is my difficulty with Keynote Remote on my iPhone 4s. When I attempt to connect to the Macbook it says it is not supported. Anyone else having a similar issue?

iPhone 4S, iOS 5.0.1
