iPhone 4 stuck on plug into iTunes screen after updating.

I updated my iPhone 4 today. I click on the install update under settings and the plug into iTunes screen appeared. I plugged in my iPhone and let it update. When it was finished, the plug into iTunes screen stayed, so I tried to restore it. An error message appeared iTunes and said my iPhone was unable to restore. I just bought it yesterday. I also tried holding down the home button and wake button and it didn't help. Please help me!

What did you do to resolve the problem? My iphone crashed - in fact my phone now shows a picture that I need to plug my iphone 4S into Itunes too. Funny, since it already is? Now its the next day & I can't even restore to factory settings. The itunes doesn't seem to acknowledge my phone &/or allow me to even restore it? Apple has no appointments for 4 days. All of Long Island only has 2 stores?

You're responding to a post more than 2 years old. Your phone is in recovery mode. Follow these instructions:

Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings

If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
