iPhone 4s 5.1 disconnecting from WiFi

I have an iPhone 4s with 5.1 software and everytime I connect to my WiFi and lock my screen it just disconnects. I've tried restoring it, resetting network settings and rebooting it. How can I fix this?

Usually, that is a problem with Wi.-Fi router, and setting on it. I had similar problem with various different type of routers. Some of thoose wi-fi routers had older firmware, and I had to update them, to resolve same problems.

Some of the Belkin routers, after update worked well and there was no problem with connection but I faced different problem: AirPlay was not working well.

So I decided to purchase Airport Extreme. Now I have no problem with connection or with Airplay.

Check your router, see if there is update of firmware for it.

All iPhones disconnect from wifi when the screen is locked (phone sleeps) unless plugged into a power source.

There are numerous threads and proposed solutions to real wifi problems, just search. One that I've experienced is that my phone will switch to cellular if the wifi signal isn't strong. So, I could start Safari on wifi, and then notice later that I'm on cellular. I've taken to switching cellular off when I'm home, because I know I could move my phone out of wifi range while sitting at my kitchen table. This is not really a problem, just the way things work.

Called Apple support, but was past my 90 free call support window. Told the guy it should be a covered situation but he didn't want to here it. He said his phone did the same thing and that it was definately a software bug! I asked why should I have to pay to get the fix for a known bug! So after telling him to go blow and hanging up I went back to Apple store for the 4th time in a week. The guy there agreed that they should have helped me. He wiped my phone doing a DFU. That wipes the firmware and OS then reloaded both. Guess what, still don't work! I will be exchanging my phone everyday for a new one until I get one that works. I have 165 days left on my year warranty, if I have to go thru 165 phones I will. Then when my verizon contract is up I'll get a Droid. I suggest everyone that has this problem do the same, maybe then Apple will address the issue.
