Iphone keeps repeating songs!!!

I have a device that plays my iphone music in the car. One end plugs into the phone, the other plugs into the cigarette lighter. On this device is a tuner where i can select a radio station, i also set my car radio to that station & viola! My music plays through my car speakers. On the way to work, i plug my phone in, open my music & hit play. The first song plays, then repeats. I deselect repeat & am able to enjoy other songs. I get to work, unplug it, do my shift, then get back in my car, plug the phone in, press play... & somehow its on repeat again. Does anyone know how to get rid of the ghost that keeps turning on the repeat butoon?

I have the exact same problem. It started after installing iOS 10.3.2 a couple of days ago. I use my iPhone 7 plus on my Nissan versa (2012) just as I used to before installing the update, but now Spotify keeps as activating "track repeat" as soon as I connect my phone to the car (designed for iPod/iPhone). Funny thing is that on Spotify is "repeat track" and on Music app is "repeat playlist". Basically I'm screwed because I mainly use Spotify. At first I thought it was because I started to use my Apple watch and maybe it had something to do with Bluetooth connection but that is now discarded.

How is your device plugging into the iPhone. Is it via the dock connector at the bottom?

Yes it is, it also charges the phone which is why i chose it over the audio cable. Sometimes i turn the car off while the music is still playing, and this forces the pause function instead of me shutting off the music then unplugging.... but either way, the repeat button still selects itself.

It'll more than likely be something in the car stereo. Does the repeat function still select itself on normal use?

Check to make sure the stereo doesn't have a repeat function selected

Yeah, not possible... The car's repeat button is a multifunction button for Repeat & Scan, so Repeat only works when a CD is playing. When i utilize the am/fm tuner, the button's function becomes Scan. Also, I sometimes use my 3rd generation iPod with this device & it never has the repeat problem...

Do you still have the box for the stereo? Check that it states "made for" or "works with" iPhone as some functions can act differently when a iPhone is plugged in, even if it works with iPod

This isn't much help, but I have noticed the same thing with my 2012 Toyota, but I don't even physically connect it--I use bluetooth. Every time I play music in my car, the phone goes into repeat mode. The car stereo DOES have a repeat button...but it's not on, it's off. I'm just relieved to have figured out it's the car doing it, for months I had no clue why the phone kept going into repeat.

I have this same problem! It just started today. iPhone 6, iOS 9.2.1. Some how (maybe user error) the repeat button was clicked and it is hard to find where to turn it off.
