Q: "No Mountable File Systems"

This appears to be a pretty known error. The only problem is, no solution seems to fix it. Lately I have been trying to download a few trials for software such as Little Snitch and Ableton(they both are amazing products from what I have heard). The only issue is for both of them the Disk Mounter gives me an error "No Mountable File Systems". This just started recently so I really have no idea what is going on. I tried opening them with Disk Utility as well and I get the same error. I also tried terminal commands and got the same error. There really seems to be no winning on this one. I really need to fix this ASAP.

Thanks.

Sorry to dig this one up again, but I am having problems with both Dropbox (installed after taking contents out of the DMG on another Mac as well as Rosetta Stone ISOs (I hate CDs but have tried burning them too). Mine is an MLPostFactor Macbook (Late 2007) running Mountain Lion (I think that this is what the OSX Hackers entry is below. Have tried their forums but to no avail, and do not have any Lexar stuff on here either.

So here's my output (looks like sparse responses to some of the commands), let me know what you see that I can ditch to fix:

    roberthendricks$ kextstat -kl | awk '!/com\.apple/{printf "%s %s\n", $6, $7}'

    pc66:~ roberthendricks$ sudo launchctl list | sed 1d | awk '!/0x|com\.(apple|openssh|vix)|edu\.mit|org\.(amavis|apache|cups|isc|ntp|postfi x|x)/{print $3}'

I had a similar issue with Xcode command line tools dmg. When I mounted it using DiskUtility as stated below, there was a package file (.pkg) inside it. I have dragged the .pkg file to my desktop and double clicked it, this has installed the software.

To install dmg, you could try mounting the Disk image (dmg file) manually using Disk utility.

Open 'Disk Utility' app. Click File -> Open Disk Image . Select the dmg file. This should allow you to mount/open the dmg file and install its contents.

Note: You might have to copy the file content from the disk utility finder/viewer window to some other location, as I have done with the .pkg file found inside the .dmg
