Q: rebooting trouble in start up mode

Hello,

I am having trouble with my mac. I'm getting a bluescreen on my mac so I've ntried starting the computer up in safemode using the shift key, but this is not working. Everytime I hit the shift key, right after the startup beep the grey apple comes on for a second and then I get the standard kernel panic message to restart the computer, which of course I can't do because of bluescreen issues.

Any advice/suggestions
