Album artwork not syncing on iPhone iOS 5.1 update

Has anyone else had a problem with album artwork not showing up in the Music App since the recent iOS 5.1 update? i've tried restoring my iphone, changing the resolution of the artwork to 600x600, deleting all the music off and resyncing, and many other troubleshoots to NO avail. please advise if you have had a similar problem RECENTLY?

i can trace my issue directly to the most recent iTunes update.

Be careful ... be very careful ... Apple is slowly and methodically minimizing user independence and control. All my album artwork originated with amazon.com. Now that artwork is no longer being allowed to be copied to my iPhone or iPad. I am a longtime Apple customer. However, each and every time I complain to Apple - they tell me that I am the only customer with that specific complaint. Why. Because, they want to keep there customers dumb and stupid. How many people notice that every one of their updates degrades rather than upgrades hardware performance.

I believe this is due tu ID3 tags. Right click on your track, click 'get info' and look at the tag type. If it's 2.3 or less, chances are the artwork won't copy over to your iphone/ipod. If it's 2.4, the artwork will copy over.

It's a matter of updating the tags with software like Mp3tag or any other mp3 tagging software.

I had this issue on my new iPad. Called Apple support and they were no help at all really. They put me on hold about 3 times trying to figure out a solution. After about 20 minutes or so I hung up and just restored my iPad. After the restore, I loaded all my music back onto the iPad and, sure enough, all the artwork popped up. Wish they would've just told me to restore instead of making me wait forever with no answer.

Also having exactly the same issue... I can't restore my iPhone because I literally updated the new software today (as well as the new iTunes) and when I try to restore my iPhone it starts re-downloading the iPhone update... Like I seriously don't have 800mb to spare... Why on earth is it redowoading iOS 5!?!? And why is Apple always messing with album artwork...? A while ago if I synced to many songs at once, iTunes would delete my album artwork... It would annoy me to **** and back... Now this...? Pretty miffed right now I'm not going to lie... And I've tried to find the software update file but it's not there... Why...? Does anyone have any other suggestions...? My phone looks so empty without the album artwork... What's the point of an update if it's going to mess things up... Is the point of an update not to make something better...?

After some trial and error I come to find out it has to do with the converting bitrates of song to your device. I have an 8 gig iPhone 4 and like to convert my songs to 128kbps. Any song that is converted has no album art but ones that weren't will have. You can just uninstall iTunes 10.6 and install 10.5, you'll just need to find it to download just google it you should find it.

Ok guys, here's a crude and inefficient method to get this resolved.

All album artwork is restored by unsyncing and resyncing the phone with the library.

Of course, it will wipe the library completely and then sync again. Total waste of time and very bad memory management as it results in more file fragments and increased latency. But who cares as long as the songs get back their artworks? ;-)

Same type of issue here. At first some album artwork was just messed up. So I thought I'd just delete all my songs off my iPhone (a lot) and redo it. Well now when I add songs a huge majority of the artwork doesn't transfer. I've restored my phone, and reloaded the artwork in iTunes. Then the other day I put music on a friends phone and every single one transferred right. His phone was a different carrier but I don't think that would matter. This really has me stumped.

Ps. I don't convert songs to a lower quality for my phone.
