Just wanted to add I've found a fix for the "some albums aren't listed Alphanumerically" issue I mentioned above,  my description wasn't very accurate as it was actually a case of the Artist name was missing in the horizontal Album view on my iPhone. Thanks to a chap called planb77 who had listed a fix for this problem...

The fix is actually really simple as follows -

Select all the tracks of the album in itunes in the 'Songs' View, you can do this by clicking the first track and then using the Shift key select the last track, all songs should now be highlighted.

Now Right click and then click the 'Get Info' option, make sure you're now on the 'Multiple Item Information' screen.

Now click on the 'Options' tab and in the drop down box for 'Part of a compilation' change the selection from Yes to No and click on the OK button.

Connect your iPhone and perform a Sync, then eject it.

You should now find when looking at the horizontal view of albums they now have the Artist names listed and are now correctly listed alphanumerically.

Obviously don't do this for actual compilation albums, these will be listed first in this view.

He said you just change your art photo format.

Let the old art photo format cover.jpg to be --> cover.png

    1. remove the old music files in iTunes.

2.make sure your art cover photo pormat [PNG]

3.Re-import the photo  format has been replaced

    4.Re-sync your iphone

Yes,that's so easy. And it's work to me.

First time post.  Unfortunately, no solution here.  I have spent an inordinate amount of time on this board attempting to find arcane answers to numerous Apple related Cloud / iTunes / iPhoto issues.  This "bug" takes the cake amongst them.  There is nothing special about this bug, other than the straw that compelled me to respond.

As a loyal customer, I simply demand more form Apple.  I've already spoken as a former shareholder.  The multifacted / poor user experience with iTunes integration is a symptom of something problematic taking place within Apple.   The integrated consumer package is just too tough for the masses (i.e., their customers) to use.

Forums like this serve an important role for getting customer feedback on products.  What's Apple plan?  It is clear that in Apple's attempt to innovate across multi-devices and platforms (iCloud, iMatch, OS X, iOS), the development intent is admirable, but short on execution as technology evolves.  Complexity has grown geometrically; their ability to deliver solutions has not kept pace.  I for one suffer from upgrade fatigue.

A competitor who can offer a "clean sheet of paper" approach who is not burdened by the legacy issues contained in Apple's current product offering could out flank Apple easily with respect to "ease to use".  I don't know who that competitor is, but I am hopeful my comment here might spark interest from within Apple to step-up its game in nurturing its customer franchise.

I had the problem of music album artwork being completely wrong - not matching the song being played. I had this with iOS 6 on my iPod Touch 5. I got no help from Apple Tech support and infact a great deal of being ignored. But I did find a post on this forum that solved the problem. Tech support should read the posts - they might understand the user complaints. This post was by 'Edl4304', to whom I am very grateful, and the link to it was https://discussions.apple.com/message/21201891#21201891. Just in case you can't find it or its no longer there - this is the heart of the post...

    Step-by-Step Procedure:

    1. Back up your iPhone to your PC using iTunes.

    2. On your PC, download and install iFunBox, a free utility that will allow you to access the

system files on your iDevice; (try www.i-funbox.com)

    3. On your iPhone, go to Settings\General\Usage\Storage\Music and swipe and delete All

Music. (I'm not sure this is necessary, but it worked for me.)

    4. Turn off your iPhone, then restart it.

    5. Put your iPhone in Airplane mode so it will not be disturbed while syncing.

    6. Make sure iTunes is not set to start automatically when a device is connected and close it on

    your PC if open.

    7. Run iFunBox and connect your iPhone via cable to your PC. Look for the "iFunBox Classic"

    tab and click on it.

    8. Connect your iPhone via cable to your PC.

    9. Your device will appear under "Connected Devices" in iFunBox.

    10. Navigate to the file, "MediaLibrary.sqlitedb" in folder "Raw File

    System>iTunes_Control>iTunes."

    11. Rename, "MediaLibrary.sqlitedb" to, "MediaLibrary.sqlitedb.backup." (Note: Do not

rename or delete, "MediaLibrary.sqlitedb-shm" or, "MediaLibrary.sqlitedb-wal." Neither of these

    are the file you're after!)

    12. When done, eject / dismount your iDevice from iFunBox, then disconnect the cable.

    13. Close iFunBox. Reboot your device again by turning power off and back on. (Again, may

not be necessary, but after spending weeks trying to get this problem fixed, I figured another two

    minutes wouldn't hurt.)

    14. Start iTunes on your PC and reconnect your device to the sync cable.

    15. Sync your device. When done, be sure to eject / dismount your iPhone from iTunes before

    disconnecting the cable.

    16. Take your phone out of Airplane mode.

    17. Check to see that your album artwork has returned.

Ok All, This is a very easy fix for iPad....Simply go to Music on your iPad and at the bottom of the screen you will see a button 'More' click this then select 'Shared' then select your 'Libray' and NOT 'My Ipad' and your Album covers will now be all fixed. It will take a little while to drop them all in.

That will work until you leave the house and lose your connection to your shared library.

I found the easiest fix... and just facepalmed myself for not having thought about it before.

In itunes under phone sync options:

    - Un-select all your music files before sync

    - sync your phone (bascially with no songs on the phone)

    - reselect all the songs you want in itunes

-resync your phone (with the songs you want)

    FIXED

(make sure your album in itunes has an album art on it though. If you purchased your songs through itunes, it already has one. If not, you might have to manually add one yourself before syncing phone)

Thank you so much! For anyone else looking - this (deleting/renaming the MediaLibrary.sqlitedb file) completely fixes the problem I had which I originally traced back to the down-conversion of songs for my iPhone 5 as many other people on this board have noted. As PatNY says, this will completely reload your library, so don't try to do it right before you go to work or anything! Just connect your iDevice at night and let it run. I still had "Convert higher bit rate songs" checked and it worked like a charm.  It's times like these that I sadly think back to the firewire support lost in 2007... transferring a library used to be so much faster. Hopefully USB 3.0 will make the jump from Mac to iDevices soon!

Also for all the Apple bashers - I agree this is lame and is a problem; that said, bugs and database errors are to be found in all modern software. Yes it conflicts with the "it just works mentality." No, I don't think we should just suck it up and bow down to "our Apple Masters" - I like 'em, but I'm no fanboi. But come on, everyone take a step back, this is not an Apple conspiracy to not display artwork from non-iTunes sources nor is this in any way an intentionally malicious deed on Apple's part. I agree we should be vocal to try to get a fix for whatever instability is causing the database errors in the first place, but can we stop the trolling and chest thumping?

For the record I'm neurotic about my iTunes files so this really did bother me as much as anyone else on this board.

    Hasn't worked for me

The MediaLibrary.sqlitedb file has shrunk from 6.9MB to 4.2MB so there was obviously a lot of dross in it.

When I first sync'd the phone after renaming MediaLibrary.sqlitedb most of the artwork re-appeared - ~2% missing I'd estimate. Then I sync'd the phone a second time and iTunes said it was sync'ing artwork X of 110 but when it had finished it seems that it's removed the artwork for ~110 additional albums so I'm back to ~25% missing artwork.

Might try again sometime but, to be honest, Apple must be aware of this and since it's been an issue for so long they really should have a fix out by now. We shouldn't have to poke around in the bowels of iOS just to get it to do something as simple as display some graphics
